“The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale,” David Glasser, CEO of the show’s production company 101 Studios, said in a statement. But given Yellowstone’s various starry spin-offs, including prequel series’ 1923, starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, and 1883, led by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill-as well as two other unrelated Sheridan Paramount productions, Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King and Jeremy Renner’s Mayor of Kingstown-there’s plenty incentive to move forward.
#YELLOWSTONE NETFLIX KEVIN COSTNER SERIES#
Starring Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, and Luke Grimes, the drama series airs on Paramount Network in the United States. It’s unclear whether Costner will film any final episodes when production restarts in August, or how the ongoing writers’ strike will impact the final season of Yellowstone. Yellowstone has grown to be one of the biggest shows on the planet, spawning an entire universe and arguably bringing back a genre of television, but the series is nowhere to be found on Netflix here’s why. A Paramount spokesperson told the paper: “Like many of the best creators, when Taylor is working on a Western, he has a team of experts with whom he likes to work, but we ensure there are parameters in place to make cost effective decisions.” According to the outlet, Sheridan charges Paramount fees to rent his own horses and film at his ranch, which is co-owned by Paramount. The creator is apparently compensated for his contributions both creative and practical. News of the sequel series coincides with a new Wall Street Journal report that estimates Paramount spends more than $500 million a year on the production of Sheridan’s various shows. Per FOX News, throughout the series, Costner explores Yellowstone National Park to discover whether it’s still as wild and untouched as it was on the day of its inception and looks back in. At the time, Costner’s attorney Marty Singer branded the claim an “absolute lie,” telling Entertainment Tonight in a statement: “It’s ridiculous -and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second.” Earlier this week, it was announced that Costner and his wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner, were divorcing due to “circumstances beyond his control,” his publicist said in a statement to CBS News.

The actor, who is also directing and starring in his own multipart Western, Horizon, only wanted to film for a single week during production of the second half of the fifth season, sources told Deadline in February. News of this pivot comes amid reported behind-the-scenes drama involving the number of days Costner was willing to shoot on the show. The untitled show premieres on Paramount Network and later on Paramount+. In December, a sequel series from creator Taylor Sheridan ( potentially starring Matthew McConaughey) will launch with some cast members returning, according to Deadline. Paramount announced on Friday that original recipe Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner will end with its fifth season in November. Yellowstone, TV’s top-rated drama series, is ending-then seemingly restarting immediately, with a new cowboy in tow.
